Nasty things, cigarettes. Oh sure, you can argue they make you look cool, or they help you stay thin, and not forgetting you can usually get an extra 5 minutes break to smoke one, but that’s neither here nor there. Despite all the branding in the world, you can’t get away from the fact they smell and taste horrible, they yellow your teeth and nails, and they cost a small fortune in tax.
That and they kill you, one drag at a time.

So after last weeks jaunt into Neil Gaiman’s Books of Magic, I had a bit of a revelation. I despite enjoying tales of the macabre and dark humour, really not explored the background of everyone’s favourite Liverpudlian Occult detective.
